How do foreigners establish a company in Taiwan?
The process for foreigners (including foreign legal entities) to establish a company in Taiwan is as follows:
- Apply for reservation of company name and business scope.
(1) Check if the company name is available and reserve the company name for a certain period (approximately 6 months) to prevent others from using it.
(2) The MOEA will issue an approval slip.
- Apply for Foreign Investment Approval with the Department of Investment Review, MOEA.
(1) The Department of Investment Review, MOEA, shall make a decision on the investment application within one (1) month.
(2) The MOEA will issue approval letter A.
- Open a bank account in the name of the company’s preparatory office with the MOEA’s approval slip.
- Remit capital into the bank account with MOEA’s approval letter A.
- Capital verification and approval with the Department of Investment Review, MOEA.
The MOEA will issue approval letter B.
- Company registration with MOEA’s approval letter A and approval letter B.
